We’d like to develop the site into a major hub of Shakespeare-on-film discussion. In that spirit, we encourage readers to comment on our blogs and even offer alternate posts or reviews in a congenial, thoughtful spirit.
Guest Blog Guidelines
In general, blogs should be between 400 and 1000 words in length. WQ are interested both in reviews and op ed pieces on all aspects of Shakespeare’s life and work. (Yep, that includes the “Identity Question.”)
Reviews of films, books, audiobooks, et al, should discuss what worked (or didn’t) and why, but always with an attitude suggesting that the reviewer (and reader) is aware that reviews are highly subjective, not pronouncements from on high.
We have found that including graphics or video clips are very helpful in attracting readers by way of image searches. There are a number of free image sites out there, as well as inexpensive screen- and video-capture programs, but if a prospective guest blogger is not able to provide graphics, your Humble Editor may be able to, so don’t let that stop you from submitting a piece.
Also, if someone else has posted a review, don’t let that stop you from submitting your own take!
